On the left is the latest search tool for the Daily Giz Wiz (Feb 26, 2009)

Ludwick has created a new search tool for the Daily Giz Wiz. It's on the left.  Ludwik said: "It uses Google as a backend, so it has a really good index and algorithm.  It searches all pages within your site, and in addition, includes relevant result from other Giz Wiz sources - twit.tv/dgw, insidedgw.vox.com and gizwizsearch.com.  (It doesn't search Dick's Gadget Warehouse, not yet anyway!)

"See" The Daily Giz Wiz -
You can watch Leo and me (Leo & I?) record the Daily GizWiz. We do it most Tuesdays at 4PM EST.  You can see (and hear us) at WWW.TWITLIVE.TV

GIZ WIZ HELP!

Here's a new, easier way to find episodes, subjects and search DGW episodes. It's compliments of Ludwik from Warsaw, Poland. Thanks, Ludwik!

 http://www.gizwizsearch.com/

And to find any show all the way back to Daily Giz Wiz #1, Ludwik has created another great program:

http://www.gizwizsearch.com/list2.php

Here's another way to hear ANY episode of the DGW. Collins emailed this to us:  ?I am 14 years old, and I do web development. I have listened to every netcast of yours and Leo?s, and cant wait until every time Leo posts any new Netcasts. I made a little script out of PHP that will give you a Giz Wiz episode if you just enter the episode ID and click the Giz it button all in your web browser.? (Now that?s a bright boy!!) Collins.

The URL is:  http://www.roundobia.com/dgw

More help! Noor Baghajati, from the other side of the world : in Damascus, Syria reminds us that you can still listen to all the old Daily GizWiz Netcasts. This is the link for DGW #1:

http://aolradio.podcast.aol.com/twit/DGW-001.mp3

Just change the three digit number after DGW-to any number up to the current DGW episode (over 500 episodes so far) and you can hear the entire series.

Daily Giz Wiz Help Websites you should know about!

Written and edited by a DGW Fan, the website below offers not only the gadget we talk about each day, but it profiles all the other subjects we talk about as we ramble on. It's a labor of love! And Leo and I love it! Thanks, Inside DGW guy! Here's how he opens the website:

InsideDGW - Everything you don't need to know about the Daily Giz Wiz podcast!

http://insidedgw.vox.com/

The amazing Ludwik has teamed up with the Inside DGW website to make it better than ever! Looking for earlier episodes?  Check out this email:

Hi Dick and Leo, I forgot to mention on my last e-mail that our friend Ludwik helped me to download ALL the 677 podcasts. He told me to use Mozilla Firefox with the DownThemAll! add-on installed. Then he proceeded to make a web page just for me with the links of ALL the DGW podcasts and it automatically updates itself when new episodes come out. Check out his DGW list site at

Happy Chinese New Year!
A Rare EMail From Alfred At Inside GizWizBiz!

At the time of writing, you've already recorded the episode for 20 January 2009 - a momentous day for many people, especially for the Daily Giz Wiz listeners, as your podcast has reached Jumbo proportions, having come to the 747 mark.  It also happens to be Barack Obama's Inauguration Day.

While browsing this thing called the internet recently, I came across an item in the myriad of Obama merchandise, called "The Future of Ameria" Button, which has the White House in the background, an image of Obama in the foreground, and the words "Our 44th President".  I thought, what sort of a button is that, if it doesn't get you to the GizWiz website?

So in celebration of Episode 747, I've photoshopped a special "The Future of TWiT" button.  Naturally, it still doesn't take you to the Giz Wiz website, but at least it's got an image of the TWiT Cottage in the background, an image of Leo and the Giz Wiz in the foreground, and the words "Our 747th Episode" generously splashed across the picture.  It's on my blog post for Episode 747 (http://insidedgw.vox.com/library/post/dgw-episode-747.html) at insidedgw.vox.com, or just go to Ludwik's GizWizSearch, which is easier.

Since we have the new president's inauguration this week, I've also done a new avatar on my blog, a "Yes We Can't, Stars and Stripes" avatar.  Available for a limited time only -  only this week, and only on my blog!  Not even on GizWizSearch - as Ludwik's computer bot doesn't think much of my avatars and never bothers to import them over to his site.

At the dawn of the new presidency and the end of the last president's term, I'm still not in a postion to confirm or deny whether I'm a high-ranking official in the last government, or whether I fly Air Force One (and if I do, don't expect a smooth landing on the Hudson River).  However, in the spirit of the openness and inclusiveness which everyone hopes the new administration will bring in, I am in a position to reveal - not that anyone is interested, that I'm from Hong Kong, my name is Alfred Chan, no relation to Alfred E Newman, and I'm a big fan of the TWiT network, especially the Daily Giz Wiz.

Love the podcast.

Best wishes, Happy Inauguration Day, and Kung Kei Fat Choy for Chinese New Year, from
